Mariah Carey has finally confirmed that she and husband Nick Cannon are expecting their first child!
After months of speculation, the 41-year-old singer made the announcement that she is pregnant on The Today Show Thursday morning, saying “Yes, we are pregnant. this is true. It’s been a long journey. It’s been tough because I’ve been trying to hold on to a shred of privacy.”
During a sneak peek of Mariah's Access Hollywood three-part interview with Billy Bush, the singer revealed that she had miscarried nearly two years ago. "It kind of shook us both and took us into a place that was really dark and difficult. When that happened... I wasn't able to even talk to anybody about it. That was not easy."
Mariah said she is due in spring but refused to reveal the exact date.
Husband Nick Cannon, who wed Mariah in 2008, added: "The greatest gift on earth is a child. We’ve had names picked out from the first day we met and we want to stay true to that”.Congrats again to the happy couple!
