Angelina Jolie reportedly have told Slumdog Millionaire star Azharuddin Mohammed that she wants to adopt a child from India to expand her "rainbow family", according to The Sun.

Azharuddin Mohammed, 10, asked the actress at last month's Academy Awards if she planned to bring up an Indian orphan.

Angelina is said to have replied, "Well, I'll let you into a little secret, we will soon."

This is not the first time that Angelina Jolie and her partner Brad Pitt are considering an adoption in India. The couple have visited an orphanage in Pune in November 2006.

Elizabeth Dick is the first child together for comedian Tim Allen and actress wife Jane Hajduk. Baby Elizabeth was born on Saturday in Los Angles according to AP. She weighed 5 lbs 13 oz.

Elizabeth’s father Tim Allen, original name Timothy Allen Dick, 55, and mother Jane Hajduk, 42, in a small private ceremony in Grand Lake, Colorado in October 2006 after they dated for five years.

Tim Allen who became famous for his role in the television series Home Improvement, was previously married to college sweetheart Laura Deibel, a landscape designer since 1984 but divorced in 2003. They had a daughter together named Katherine Dick. Katherine was born in 1989.

Jane Hajduk, of Hungarian origin, is known for playing the role of Researcher Taylor in the film Zoom where husband Tim also starred. Besides, they also appeared in The Shaggy Dog together. Tim Allen’s other movie credits included Disney franchises The Santa Clause and Toy Story among others.

Officer Robert Powell, 25, recently hit the news headlines for a much-criticized move that he detained Houston Texans running back Ryan Moats in a hospital parking lot and caused the latter not able to have a final sight of his dying mother-in-law.

Now it turned out Powell was the officer who may have harassed Maritza Thomas in 2008.  Excerpts from Dallas Morning News well described what officer Powell had mistreated his subject:

On July 27, 2008, while her husband was at training camp with the Cowboys in Oxnard, Calif., Maritza Thomas was pulled over by Powell for an illegal U-turn near NorthPark Center.

Maritza Thomas was issued five tickets by Powell, four of which were later dismissed. Thomas was handcuffed, placed in the back of a police cruiser, spent about three hours in the Dallas County Jail and was threatened with the possibility of spending the night behind bars.

According to Maritza Thomas, a pharmacist with no prior criminal record, Powell would not accept the explanation of where the proper paperwork was before she was taken to jail. Her mother, Teresa Lozano, who was making her first trip to Dallas and speaks little English, was forced to ride with the tow truck driver when the car was impounded. She later posted bail for her daughter's release.

"My mom was begging for him to let her go to the apartment that was five minutes away to get the paperwork," Maritza Thomas said. "He unbuckled his holster, and she got scared."

On the incident, Zach told to the newspaper:

"This in no way compares to what happened to Ryan Moats and his family. But we wanted to tell our story, not knowing how many others have been affected by Officer Powell. We know the vast majority of the Dallas police force are good and professional people, but this guy just seems excessive."

Bob Gorsky, attorney of Powell who was on administrative leave for Moats’ incident, defended his client's actions.

"I do understand that an arrest on multiple traffic charges happens often and is absolutely proper under these circumstances. Often, when there are multiple charges, an arrest made and bond posted, some of the charges from a single event are later dropped."

Sakhan Dosova (Picture) Is World’s Oldest Living person (130 Years Old) from Kazakhstan?

Thanks to a recent census, Kazakh demographers found a great grandmother who is probably the world’s oldest living person.

She is Sakhan Dosova, photo above, from Karaganda in northern Kazakhstan, Dailymail reported.

Sakhan Dosova is said to be 27 March 1879, two weeks after Nobel-winning German-American genius/physicist Albert Einstein was born on March 14 the same year.

Dosova’s birth date translates her age to be 130 years old on March 27, 2009. However, Kazakh officials are a bit more cautious, they are now making more checks to be ascertain the accuracy of Sakhan Dosova’s age.

'We can see that this is turning into a big story and for the sake of our country, we need to be sure her claim is correct,' said one official.

According to one version of her life, she must have given birth to several children over the age of 60, he said.

'There is no doubt she is very old. But is she really 130? Or was there a white lie long ago which was never corrected? We need to find out.'

In January, also in a census, Uzbekistan found Tuti Yusupowa, a super centenarian who reportedly was born on July 1, 1880, and claimed she was the world’s oldest person.

Yet, the current world’s living oldest person recognized by Guiness World Records is Gertrude Baines, born on April 6, 1894. The 115-year-old African American lives lives at the Western Convalescent Home in Jefferson Park, Los Angeles. In 2008 General Election, grandma Baines voted for President Barack Obama.

Wang Yuhui, a policewoman of Changchun Prison, is dubbed the most beautiful policewoman by netizens in China after her recent brave rescuing suicidal girl Zuo Xiaodan from a six-storey building was posted on numerous Chinese forums.

About 13:00pm on March 16, an off-duty Wang Yuhui who was on her way back to home after picking up 10-year-old son from his school, suddenly noticed a suicidal girl standing on the roof edge of a residential building at downtown Changhun City, Jilin Province.

Yuhui, a certified psychologist, volunteered to do the rescue mission. Once she reached the spot a few feet away from the girl, Yuhui began a 2-hour-long persuasion process though failed to convince the girl to abandon her dead wish.

Finally, the quick-thinking policewoman took an opportunity to clutch the girl when taking back the sweat coater which she previously offered to the latter.

After two male colleagues who hid nearby came to offer their hands to Yuhui, the three police managed to pulled the suicidal girl to safety.

That girl was named Zuo Xiaodan, from Qinggang County, Heilongjiang Province. She worked as a waitress in a restaurant in Changchun.

Her woes began after a customer forgot his mobile phone at her restaurant on March 14. Due to not know the phone function well, the 19-year-old pressed a wrong key when the man called his lost handset.\

Later when the man returned to Zuo’s restaurant, he found the phone but noticed its screen was broken. He accused Zuo of stealing and having damaged his phone, so he required her to compensate more than 3000 Yuan (~450USD).

Zuo turned to her sister for borrowing money after asking a leave from the restaurant owner. But the boss withheld her identification card and the luggage.

In the afternoon of March 16, Zuo Xiaodan wanted to ask back ID to prove her innocent, she resorted to that extreme way. Luckily, Wang Yuhui appeared in time…

"Ivana and my son are doing well. Everyone is healthy and happy. I am ecstatic about being a father." Andrew said in a statement to the mag.

Andrew Firestone, 33, is the heir of Firestone family. Firestone appeared on the third season of ABC’s The Bachelor in 2003. He proposed to Jennifer Schefft but later called it quits. He again proposed to Ivana Bozilovic in 2007.

How to Survive A Plane Crash: CNN's Tips!

Emma Clarke wrote a fabulous article How To Survive A Plane Crash for CNN’s Business Traveller. It is a must read. Though the airplane crash is the most unwanted thing of any air traveler, sometimes an emergency does happen. So one is highly recommended to read those 8 advice from the experts Clarke listed.

Make a plan. When you board a plane, get in tune with your environment. Visibility will be reduced in a smoke-filled cabin, so count the number of rows between you and the two nearest exits.

Always listen to the pre-flight safety briefing and study the seat-back safety card. Don't assume you know it all, as every type of airplane has different safety instructions.

If you're sitting in an exit row, study the door and make sure you know how to open it. Cabin crew will not order you to operate the exit, so make sure you have confidence to take control in an accident.

Dress properly. You will need to be able to stay warm if you survive a crash so wear long sleeves and trousers and avoid wearing high heels as these must be removed before evacuating via an emergency slide.

Keep your seatbelt securely fastened. But also remember how it unfastens.

"It has been found that people who have survived emergency landings frantically search for where they expect the seatbelt to fasten [on the hip as in a car]," says Andy Clubb, BA Safety Course Director. "You often find bruising and cuts in that area," he added.

The safest seat probably doesn't exist.

In 2007, Popular Mechanics magazine analyzed data for crashes since 1971 and found that more passengers near the tail of a plane survived crashes than those in the first few rows up front.

But in last week's Turkish Airlines crash, reports suggest that survivors were sat in the center of the plane. Many believe this section is safest because it is also the strongest part of the fuselage. That said, the fuel tank is also located in the center, warns Clubb.

A seat next to an exit does not always guarantee a speedy evacuation since some exits may not function after an accident.

And while an aisle seat may ensure an easier exit, you are also at risk from falling objects from overhead lockers. A errant bottle of duty free is also a more common occurrence than an air crash.

Check for a life jacket before taking off. It will be in a plastic casing usually under the seat.

Do not inflate your jacket in the plane. Many of the 123 who were killed in the crash of the Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 767 off the Comoro Islands near Africa in 1996 had inflated their jackets in the cabin. This meant that they were unable to dive and reach the exits when the cabin flooded.

Brace yourself for impact. The aim is to prevent being rapidly propelled forward. Return your seat to the upright position and lower your head to your knees or rest it on the seat in front of you.

Put your hands behind your head, but do not lace your fingers. Keep your elbows to the side of your head, but not over knees.

Many of the victims and survivors of the M1 Kegworth crash of 1989 (79 of the 126 people on board survived) had legs broken below the knee as their legs were forced against the seats in front of them. So keep your feet as far back as possible.

And ignore Internet rumors that the brace position guarantees to break your neck and back to make death as painless as possible, says Clubb. It has been proven to minimize injury.

Jump. When it's time to leave the aircraft, exit will be by slide. Jump feet-first, arms folded across chest and lean forward.

And if you hesitate, Clubb warns, a member of cabin crew is likely to push you.

Transferred from Canada to New York’s Lenox Hill Hospital, Natasha Richardson’s condition was described by many reports as “brain dead.” Her husband Liam Neeson, mom Vanessa Redgrave, sons Michael and Daniel Jack, sister Joley (Jolie) Richardson among other family members held a vigil last night at the hospital. A family friend told People that "there is no chance [for Nathasha to survive]“ and “they [Nathasha’s family] basically will detach her [from the life support tubes]."

Lindsay Lohan was called to surrender herself to the LAPD. A $50,000 arrest warrant was issued for the troubled 22-year-old by the Beverly Hills Superior Court on Friday March 13. She was believed violating the probation from her 2007 DUI hit-and-run case and cocaine use in two separate incidents.

Here is the statement regarding the Lindsay Lohan arrest warrant confirmed by the Beverly Hills Police Department:

In response to media inquiries, [the] Beverly Hills Police Department is confirming a warrant was in fact issued today [March 13] for the arrest of Lindsay Lohan. The $50,000 warrant issued by the Beverly Hills Superior Court stems from a May 2007 arrest of Miss Lohan for DUI and hit-and-run. The circumstances leading to the issuance of the warrant by the court are not readily available at this time. It is our hope that Miss Lohan will surrender herself so that this matter will be resolved in a timely manner.

Oprah Winfrey to Rihanna: Chris Brown "Will Hit You Again" (Video)

Oprah Winfrey talked about the domestic abuse Rihanna took from boyfriend Chris Brown during her live talk show Friday. She had a warning for Rihanna: "Chris Brown will hit you again.”

Rihanna was back together with Chris Brown after his Feb. 8 attack. It was rumoured that the two are going to do a book and a number of talk shows together to talk about abuse and music. And Chris Brown was reportedly agreed to pay out Rihanna more that $10 million if he hurts the 21-year-old pop princess again.

Oprah advised Rihanna on her show:

Chris Brown and Rihanna, if I was your friend, I would call you up and I would say, 'Give it some time, get yourself some counseling, take care of yourself, Heal yourself first. And also, love doesn’t hurt. I've been saying this to women for years: 'If a man hits you once, he will hit you again.'

According to Dailymail, a woman fan had asked Amy Winehouse if she could take a picture with her, the singer agreed, but when the woman asked if her friend could be in the photo, the 25-year-old allegedly hit her in the arm and eye. Shortly after the alleged incident, the trouble singer ran away with screaming: 'Life can’t go on. I can’t do this any more.'

Amy Winehouse is due to back in court on 17th March.

Mariska Hargitay Hospitalized With Chest Pains In New York

Mariska Hargitay was hospitalized again with chest pains in New York Tuesday night (March 3). The Emmy-winning star of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit has been previously hospitalized for collapsed lung twice in recent months.

According to TMZ, Mariska complained of chest pains while on the set of Law & Order: SVU, but was taken to the hospital after filming.

"Mariska Hargitay went to the hospital this morning after experiencing some discomfort relating to her earlier lung condition, She is undergoing routine tests and expects to be feeling better soon.” the actress’ rep confirmed in a statement on Wednesday.

Harry Potter actor Robert Knox's killer Karl Bishop has been found guilty by a British court. Karl Bishop was accused of having stabbed Robert Knox, pictured above, who played Marcus Belby in Harry Potter, The Half Blood Prince, to death in May 2008 at the Metro bar in Sidcup, London. Though he denied the charge, Bishop, 22, was still convinced to kill the 18-year-old Harry Potter actor. This is not the first time Karl Bishop was found guilty of using knives hurting somebody.  In May 2005, he pleaded guilty to wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and causing actual bodily harm to two of youth, for which, he served a sentence in prison until March 2007. Microsoft founder head Bill Gates has banned the use of products made by arch-rival Apple from his house, his wife has revealed.

She told Vogue magazine that the couple's three children Jennifer, 13, Rory, 10 and Phoebe, seven, are not allowed Apple products.

'There are very few things that are on the banned list in our household,' she said.

'But iPods and iPhones are two things we don't get for our kids.'

Britney Spears The Circus Tour March 3 New Orleans Kickoff

Britney Spears is ready to kick off The Circus tour at New Orleans Arena on March 3. Britney Spears has fully prepared the first tour since her 2007-2008 meltdown. The only inharmonious sound is that the ticket sale of the concert is a bit troublesome possibly due to the current economic recession.

“Group sales are down considerably,” says one person close to the production, “and then you’ve got individual tickets that cost as much as $500 apiece. That’s a lot of money to spend on an artist who isn’t a sure bet right now.”

The source maintains that those who did pony up for seats won’t be let down.

“She’s worked really, really hard to make this good. Granted, there’ve been some hiccups along the way, but she’s going to put on a good show. I just hope there are people there to see it,” says the source. “This is really her last chance.” [MSNBC]
